NOOSA GRAVEL ENDURO

5 - 6 July 2025

You Asked... We've Listened

After overwhelming feedback of the length and difficulty of the last years epic adventure gravel course, our team have been busy with reconnaissance of the Noosa hinterland to find an alternative route. The result is a new an improved course that we believe will tick all the boxes!

Our new course still has the classic multi-terrain feel of the Noosa Enduro taking in all of Noosa’s epic hinterland along some premium graded gravel roads, sealed roads, fire roads, farms, track and trails. While it might sound like a mountain bike ride, we can assure it’s not!

This course is designed 100% for gravel bikes, just be prepared, it’s not your typical gravel ride. We have removed a few of the most difficult trail sections from last year though, making it a course that you should be able to ride around with no dismount sections required.

The Noosa Gravel Enduro course is a more widely achievable 100km in length but with approximately 1700m of climbing, it is still challenging even for the fittest of riders out there. The biggest challenge of the day being the famous climb of Mother Mountain but taken from a different direction to any previous editions. While this direction isn’t anywhere near as steep, it’s still packs a punch at 6km at approximately 8% average gradient.

While it is tough to the top of the Mother, it’s all worth it from there on in with the majority of the days climbing done. From there is mostly flat or downhill back into Noosa and then time to kick back, enjoy a few drinks with friends and soak in the village entertainment.

Just like last year. This timed gravel ride is a non-competitive event with just one category for all riders and no prizes given.

In terms of equipment:

  • Bikes – Gravel or Cyclo Cross bikes are perfect. You could do on a mountain bike if you wish but it will be very slow. E bikes allowed
  • Beginner riders may have to dismount on a few occasions for some very short sections and as such, gravel or mountain bike shoes are recommended. Experienced off-road riders shouldn’t need to during the ride as a general rule
  • Tyres – bigger is better! 34mm + knobby robust tyres are still recommended
  • Gear ratio’s – the terrain is hilly, so gear ratios should be selected on individual ability. Mother Mountain while not super steep, is still long so it’s recommended to go smaller if in doubt of where you’re fitness is at

On course we’ll also have a support crew around to help, but due to the large volume of needs sometimes, it’s always recommended that riders carry their own phone, pump, spares and basic tools. Unrepairable bike problems or injuries and we can arrange a pickup shuttle if you have your phone on you to communicate with us.

There will be 3 food and water stations across the course to allow for plenty of opportunity for hydration and nutrition.

We look forward to seeing you there!
